Growing Hope Globally is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving food and nutrition security in marginalized communities around the world. The organization works with community Growing Projects in the U.S. to support international agricultural development programs. These programs help local communities with the knowledge and resources they need to implement sustainable agricultural practices, grow their own food, and improve their lives.
GreenMark Equipment has been a proud supporter of local initiatives like our GreenMark Growing Program. Through a combination of local sponsors and the GreenMark team, we have had the opportunity to plant and harvest fields in our own backyard with impacts that extend beyond Michigan and Indiana.
This past summer, GreenMark Application Support Specialist, Mitchell Brown, had the opportunity to travel to Nepal and connect directly with members of a community that is currently involved with Growing Hope Globally. On the trip, the team met with local staff and participants and learned how the program is supporting both individuals and entire communities. The program includes everything from livestock management training to the promotion of nutritious indigenous crops.
