This role partners with leaders throughout the organization to:

  • Focus on retaining and engaging employees, employee relations, and talent management

  • Execute HR strategies:  organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, succession planning and employee engagement

  • Build strong relationships with employees and managers – help them with their HR needs

  • Facilitate onboarding and follow up activities in a rapidly changing environment

  • Have flexible skillset, innovative solutions, and drive results using data-driven recommendations

Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding:  organize and coordinate all onboarding and orientation activities

  • Assist new employees with new hire paperwork, collect all necessary forms, set up files for new personnel, and process new hires in HRIS.

  • Successfully monitor the "pulse" of employees and recommend changes to ensure a high level of employee engagement.

  • Conduct training needs assessments, designing and delivering curriculum and learning materials with managers as well as optimizing and managing the overall learning journey experience.

  • Review existing training programs, processes, and documentation for enhancements and improvement opportunities; design and standardize training and development methodology, structure, and techniques.

  • Provide train-the-trainer coaching and mentoring.

  • Effectively use John Deere and other relevant training resources including training recognition programs.

  • Review and research industry trends, conduct assessments and utilize industry best practices to make and incorporate recommendations into training and development practices

  • Engage in organizational effectiveness activities including performance management, workforce planning and succession planning

  • Schedule and monitor follow-up communication meetings with new hires and leaders

  • Respond to routine employee requests for HR information about benefits, policies, and procedures.

  • Assist department leaders in ensuring performance reviews, corrective actions, HR policies and processes are administered consistently and accurately. 

  • Ensure timely and accurate entries into the HRIS database, monitor, and manage HR reports, analyze data, and present information as required.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, research, and present solutions to improve the efficiency of the HR department and/or company policies.

  • Provide guidance to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and benefits

  • Work in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions

  • Assists with all aspects of Labor Law Compliance, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, and EEOC.

  • Assists in employee engagement programs including store meetings and company events

  • Think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

  • Participates in recruiting activities as needed

  • Support overall HR function and activities as needed; assist with other duties as requested or assigned.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • 4+ years’ experience in Human Resources preferred (HR generalist or training and development programs)

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, HRIS and other applications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and adapt to people’s varying learning styles

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data and reports

  • Operate with a solutions approach and identify existing/emerging customer needs

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area
