Purpose:
Leads efforts in support of the sales and service departments of GreenMark Equipment, by optimizing the pickup and delivery of equipment while maintaining a cost-efficient fleet and fleet maintenance initiatives. A centralized contact for scheduling and contracting all transportation requests received, as well is responsible for the management of all safety and required state and federal standards.
Responsibilities:
- Daily dispatching of loads to drivers
- Creating/building of efficient loads to achieve department goals
- Communicates accurate pickup/delivery dates to internal and external stakeholders
- Identifies opportunities to utilize outsourced transportation when needed
- Oversees trucks and coordinates inspections and repairs as required
- Manages truck drivers within the organization, reviewing and approving bi-weekly payroll
- Ensures timely and accurate freight billing and invoice approval
- Analyzes data and reports for continuous improvement opportunities where necessary
- Plans and submits all permitting required to support trucking
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Previous dispatch or brokerage experience
- Open deck experience preferred
- Strong communication skills, which include: email, phone and in-person
- Understanding of delivery logistics and regulatory delivery practices
- Ability to read and understand state and federal laws related to transportation and trucking
- Strong team player and leader, with the ability to work across multiple departments
- Understanding of Electronic Logbook (ELD)
- Experience working in a fast-paced team environment
- Basic machinery and vehicle capability knowledge
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
